Castor for Rhino 8
Castor is a plugin for working with topography in Grasshopper. It provides tools for analysis and grading in order to provide real-time feedback.
Castor can generate a mesh from existing contours or surfaces, import a GeoTIFF DEM, or combine these meshes to build a regional site model. It works well resampling mesh and curve data, and provides intuitive tools for grading with various constraints.
Castor is useful for calculating drainage networks and flow accumulation, defining catchments, classifying landform types, assessing relative elevation, calculating viewsheds, and other topographic analysis methods. This enables iterative analysis as design evolves, providing real-time feedback on design decisions and their impact on landscape performance.
